Septic is in

Much happened on Friday July 8. Gilles came early with Glenn and Stephane and installed the weeping bed pipes and the septic tank. By the time I arrived, round 10:40 am, the pipes had been laid in gravel in the bed, covered with more gravel and filter fabric. They had also begun to dig the hole for the tank. Prior to placing tank in hole, Glenn added sand to provide a smooth base. Stephane then spread the sand to provide a level bottom. The hole was then ready for the tank.

Once the tank was placed in the hole, pipes were put in to attach its exit to the weeping bed. It had to be packed into the sand at an even descent for gravity to provide a steady flow into the four 18.5 m. pipes.

The following day, Lena came by to survey the work.
