An immense sandbox
Long awaited, the septic is getting done. The site was dug 2 weeks ago, and now the sand is almost all in place, covering over 270 square metres / 2900 square ft. At the front, where the weeping bed is located, the sand is 5.5 feet / 1.67 metres deep. It tapers off towards the bottom of the berm to about a foot.
Once the sand is done, the pipes will have to be laid down in gravel, then covered with a membrane, more sand and topsoil. The hole for the tank will follow. After that and an inspection — finally — the excavation for the house will take place.
Presently putting together a gallery of the entire septic process. For now, some of Gilles’s skillful command of the mini-dozer.
